LEAP – TRAIN THE TRAINER
LEAP provides children from birth to age five with a strong foundation in literacy, physical activity and healthy eating. The program offers resources and training to support early learning specialists, caregivers and parents as they actively participate in children’s learning.

• $.10/km travel incentive for those driving more than 40 kms
• $50 incentive refunded to those who offer a LEAP – Basic course in their community within a year of course completion

SPORT TAPING WORKSHOP

This course includes injury assessment and management, taping theory (benefits, when and why you tape, common mistakes, and taping techniques) and plenty of actual taping instruction and practical taping time on the ankle, wrist, thumb, finger, and functional wrapping of the hip.

A $10 fee to be paid upon arrival at the course per participant is required to cover the actual cost of taping material used.

There will be a break from 10:30 – 11:30 for brunch. A brunch is available at Millar College for $9 per person, or you may bring your own lunch. We would appreciate knowing if you intend to purchase brunch.

HERITAGE DAY – FEBRUARY 21, 2012

The Heritage Canada Foundation (HCF) is encouraging communities across the country to start planning February 21, 2012 Heritage Day activities to celebrate the Heritage of Power Generation. The Heritage of Power Generation theme celebrates the past while looking forward to a sustainable future. Heritage conservation supports these new priorities, with its emphasis on using and retrofitting historic buildings, and respecting the inherent energy-saving design features present in many older buildings.

Getting You Ready for 2012 – SPRA Communities in Bloom Workshops

You are invited to an all day Workshop!   The Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association (SPRA) will be providing an opportunity to learn more about starting up or building upon your local Communities in Bloom (CiB) program and civic pride projects, to assist you in planning for the 2012 season.

Two Workshops are being held, one in Regina - on Saturday, January 21, 2012 and one in Saskatoon - on Saturday, January 28, 2012. Please plan to attend at the location most convenient to you and you are welcome to bring along other CiB volunteers, municipal staff and local Politicians. There is a registration fee of $25, to cover lunch and refreshments. Enclosed is the following information:  Communities in Bloom Workshop Overview, Registration Form and the Getting You Ready for 2012 Workshop Program.
