The South West District for Culture, Recreation and Sport is a volunteer organization dedicated to promoting healthy communities and advancing culture, recreation and sport within the boundaries of the District. The South West District for Culture, Recreation & Sport (SWDCRS) was created through the amalgamation of the Badlands Recreation Association, the South Central Recreation & Parks Association, the South West Recreation Association and the Zone 3 Sport Council. The organization was formed on April 1, 2008.
